FLEXIBILITY YOGA

For those with a yoga foundation who need a slower pace to truly rest body and mind
Flexibility in this class doesn’t come from forcing range of motion, but from holding poses longer, with proper support, and staying present with inner sensations.
Flexibility isn’t about stretching more
It’s about understanding how your body needs to be cared for

The class focuses on supported stretching, holding poses long enough, and using breath to go deeper, without forcing range of motion.

Flexibility Yoga is for those who’ve practiced and realize the body doesn’t just need movement, but also time to open, release, and intentionally recover.

COURSE CONTENT

The class is built in a slow – deep – intentional sequence, allowing the body to release, recover, and be nourished from within.

WARM UP & AWARENESS

  • Bring the body to a slower pace after a long day
  • Reconnect with breath, creating a sense of safety before deep stretching
  • Recognize the state of body and mind at the beginning of practice

STRENGTH & CONTROL

  • Gentle stretching with support from blocks, chair, bolster, wheel yoga
  • Hold poses longer to give the body time to open naturally
  • No forcing, no hard pulling, no comparing range of motion
  • Feel the change from within, not just in the muscles

STRETCH & FLOW

  • Use breath to support the stretching and releasing process
  • Connect the nervous system with movement, rather than letting the body “endure on its own”
  • Return body and mind to a balanced state before ending practice

FLEXIBILITY YOGA – Who is it for?

The class uses a chair as a support point, helping the body be supported, reducing pressure on joints and spine, while maintaining the connection between breath and movement.

When you need a slower pace to rebalance

  • Busy all week, need time truly for yourself
  • Want to move but don’t want to add pressure to the body
  • Feel your mind is always in a tense state, hard to pause
Flexibility Yoga creates space for you to rest without disconnecting from movement.

When you’ve hesitated because you’re afraid it’s “slow-boring-hard to focus”

  • Think slow classes will be boring or ineffective
  • Lack patience when holding poses for long
  • Not really clear why you’re practicing
This class helps you understand the purpose of slowing down, rather than just trying to complete a session.

Signs that Flexibility Yoga might be right for you

  • Feel your body needs a slower pace, not to practice more but to recover better
  • Want to stretch and release intentionally, not force range of motion or chase forms
  • Clearly feel tension accumulating in the body but hard to truly pause in daily life
  • Want to spend practice time staying with inner sensations, rather than just completing movements
  • Have a yoga foundation and realize flexibility only lasts when combined with rest and breath
Flexibility Yoga creates a necessary space for body and mind to release, recover, and rebalance, not just in practice, but in how you live and care for yourself daily

Amy Duong – YOGA & PILATES INSTRUCTOR

Amy doesn’t build classes to make you feel “really good at practicing”, but to help students:

  • Understand what their body needs
  • Know when to progress – when to pause
  • Practice as part of life, not an obligation
Amy’s training philosophy is based on 3 principles: STRENGTH – STRETCH – CONTROL

Every movement needs just enough strength, appropriate range of motion, and control from within.
