Yogalates

A Pilates class… but easier to breathe
Yogalates is a class based on Pilates, combining yoga as a stretching and recovery component. With a moderate pace, so you can listen to your body, build strength and release at the right time.
No need to be flexible, no need to be strong already
Just need to be ready to start.

You won’t be pushed into movements beyond your capacity.

Each session is a process of slowing down, feeling and adjusting, so the body becomes both stronger and softer naturally

This is a class for those who want to practice to stay with their body long-term, not to “push a little harder”.

The Yogalates Course is Designed to Help You

Build a body that’s both strong and soft

When your body is “out of balance” that you may not realize

  • Some muscle groups have to work too much, while others are “lazy”
  • Daily postures (sitting, standing, bending) make the body increasingly imbalanced
  • When practicing, you tend to tense your neck, shoulders, hold your breath or use excessive force
This class helps the body relearn how to use force correctly, rather than trying to be stronger.

If you frequently experience tension and difficulty releasing

  • Prolonged stress, not sleeping deeply or difficulty falling asleep
  • Body is always in a tense state, even without much movement
  • Difficult to “turn off the mind” when practicing
Pilates combined with breath and slow pace helps the nervous system release gradually, instead of being constantly stimulated.

This class is especially suitable if you:

  • Have muscle imbalances (front – back, left – right)
  • Want to recover and increase strength without causing further injury
  • Need a class with corrections, not chasing intensity
  • Want to understand what your body needs, rather than practicing on impulse

What Our Students Say

Real stories from real people whose lives have been touched by the practice

Jennifer Lee

“After years of back pain from sitting at a desk, Yogalates has completely transformed my posture and eliminated my chronic pain. Amy’s careful corrections made all the difference.”

Robert Chen

“I never thought I could build strength without feeling exhausted. This class taught me that controlled, mindful movement is more powerful than pushing hard.”

Maria Santos

“Yogalates helped me recover from injury while actually getting stronger. Amy’s approach is gentle yet incredibly effective. My body has never felt this balanced.”

Amy Duong (Yoga & Pilates Instructor)

Amy doesn’t build Pilates classes to create a feeling of “being very good at practice,” but to help students:

  • Understand what their body needs
  • Know when to progress – when to stop
  • Practice as part of life, not an obligation
Amy’s training philosophy is based on 3 principles: Strength – Stretch – Control

Every movement needs just enough strength, appropriate range of motion, and control from within.

Everything you need to know to start your journey with confidence

Yogalates is a fusion practice that combines the core-strengthening and controlled movements of Pilates with the stretching and mindfulness of yoga. It’s designed to build strength while maintaining flexibility and promoting relaxation, making it accessible for all fitness levels.

Many students notice improvements in posture, core strength, and flexibility within 4-6 weeks of consistent practice. However, Yogalates is designed for long-term wellness, focusing on sustainable progress rather than quick fixes. The key is regular practice and listening to your body.

In Amy’s Yogalates class, you can expect a welcoming environment with careful attention to alignment and proper form. Amy guides you through controlled Pilates movements to build core strength, followed by yoga stretches for recovery. Classes are paced moderately, with personalized modifications to ensure you’re working at the right level for your body. The focus is on quality of movement, breath awareness, and building sustainable strength.
