Why Practice Inversion Yoga?

Inversions are among the most rewarding yoga poses. They require strength, balance, and focus—and they deliver incredible benefits for both body and mind.

CORE STRENGTH

Inversions activate your entire core—from deep stabilizers to surface muscles. You’ll build the strength needed for headstands, handstands, and beyond.

CIRCULATION & ENERGY

Turning upside down improves blood flow to the brain, boosts energy, and gives your cardiovascular system a healthy challenge.

CONFIDENCE & MINDSET

Mastering inversions builds mental resilience. You’ll learn to face fear, trust the process, and celebrate incremental progress.

Frequently Asked Questions

No prior experience is necessary. Amy teaches progressions suitable for beginners through advanced practitioners. You’ll start with foundational exercises and build up gradually.

Fear of inversions is completely normal. Amy uses a progressive approach with wall support, spotting, and preparatory exercises to build your confidence safely.

You’ll need a yoga mat. The studio provides blocks, straps, and wall space. As you progress, you may want to practice with a headstand cushion or forearm stand blocks.

Everyone progresses at their own pace. Some students achieve their first headstand in weeks, others in months. The journey is just as important as the destination—focus on building strength and technique.

Inversions have some contraindications (neck injuries, high blood pressure, glaucoma, etc.). Amy will discuss your health history and modify the practice to suit your needs.
